Resource 2.1 is a list of twenty-three key questions to improve your learning. They are grouped by stage of the learning cycle—planning, monitoring, and evaluation—and investigate topics such as the learning objectives for the class, strategies for learning, and available supports. Refer to chapter 2 of Learning Online for the full list of key questions.

Resource 2.2 is an activity that applies two key questions in the planning phase of the learning cycle to your knowledge about learning strategies. The questions particular to learning strategies are “What do I already know about learning strategies for university?” and “What do I want to know about learning strategies?”

Resource 3.1 is an activity for creating study questions relevant to your subject area using Bloom’s cognitive taxonomy. Develop a question and answer using each of the six levels of Bloom’s taxonomy—remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating—and think about how your questions would allow you to assess how much you know your subject and what level you are working at.

Resource 11.1 is an activity with two questions about developing instructor relationships online. The questions are “How would you define an effective relationship with an online instructor?” and “What is one step you will take to develop a relationship with each of your course instructors?”

Resource 12.1 is a blank master schedule template in which to gather the course schedules and study guides from all your courses. The template is a table with columns for each day of the week and rows for each week of the course. Once populated with the dates of examinations, assignments, presentations, and so on, the schedule can be printed for easy reference throughout your studies.

Resource 13.1 is a blank weekly schedule template in which to budget time for course attendance, study, self-care, work, free time, and so on. The template is a table with columns for each day of the week and rows for half-hour intervals of time. There is a key at the bottom to support colour-coding the schedule for greater legibility at a glance.

Resource 20.1 is an activity for using a rubric / marking guide providing a list of key questions that can be answered by consulting your assignment instructions and rubric / marking guide. Refer to chapter 20 of Learning Online for the full list of key questions.

Resource 21.1 is a blank assignment planner template for tracking your upcoming assignments and creating a work plan. The template is a table with columns for assignment tasks, their target completion dates, and which tasks are complete. Each row is for a distinct assignment task.

Resource 22.1 is an activity for evaluating your planned use of learning resources, including instructor office hours, online resources, peer tutors, and Support Service consultations. The activity is a blank table with columns for learning strategies and learning resources and rows for each of the three stages of the Stop-Start-Continue method.
