“62. I have a whole cache I will one day” in “Musing”

62.

I have a whole cache I will one day

Find and it will give another story,

No second Troy, but, until then,

I will have to make do with desire

And memory as I glide across the great

Northern plain. Allusion is much

Less dangerous than a kiss. Vows will seem

As quaint as love itself, for the divergence

Of the twain, and the multiplicity

Of eros, become this time. Words are

Some kind of evidence if love exists

And is evident. You shake with a laughter

That responds to insubstantial words:

Perhaps love is as absurd as grammar.
