  12. About the Author

They were swallowed, and in time the stomach swelled into a cave fit for parents and animals. Throwing their contorted hands beneath a vault where digestion negotiates with regurgitation; many dialects help complete abandoned babel, the language of bread with the language of birds; marriages occur, as do chimeras. Interpretive gestures whose descendants remain, subterranean and lightsick; some might emerge, mutilated by summer, leaving only entrails to moulder;

ornamental gestures, occurring unnoticed,

furnish a lair by making it unseen.
