19 The overview Gerta presents here is of the Nürnberger Gesetze (the Nuremberg Laws) that were passed on 15 September 1935 and made effective the following day. The section relating to domestic workers, however, was not binding until 1 January 1936 (Shirer, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, 233).
