The dream names of my ancestors

And the families they married or knew

Fade and are torn up like thousand-year

Hedges: Throckmorton, Churchill, Coggeshall

Their relation and voices hard to surmise

A little like Balboa displaced

Into poetry: remembrance

Of all the anonymous who made them up

Before the fashion of written history.
