Weigh testimony and not

What did your dreams say

Or were they the devil’s work?

I am remembering that statue

Of my ancestor, Roger Conant,

And the graves of my forebears

Hathorne and White.

What could they have made

Of the place they led to?

What tyrant king could do worse?
